M and J Associates is happy to provide a source of court ordered, pre trial diversion classes or speeding ticket classes at various locations around the state and some ( all Traffic on line).
We have attached schedules from various parts of Louisiana. These are not all locations, but are representative of large geographic areas of the state.
Prior to sending anyone to any class, please call 318-548-6492 to confirm date, time and place and whether class is available on line.
Most of the classes offered include people sentenced for various offenses. For example, even though our Calcasieu/Lake Charles/Sulphur class is called " Social Values and the Criminal Justice System", we have attendees with many different charges. Those include, but are not limited to DWI, Theft, Marijuana, Disturbing the Peace, Battery, Assault,Anger Related, Hit and Run and many other misdemeanors and certain felonies.
The places where we conduct classes have found out that a combination of offenders in one class quite often work quite well. That reduces the number of classes and paper work for probation and pre trial case workers. It also exposes those attending to a broader understanding of the criminal justice system. This is the single most effective goal of our classes.

The people who attend our class are not there for counseling....they are there for education. Most of our attendees have never been exposed to any lengthy discussion of their involvement in the criminal justice system and the effect it can have on a persons goals and dreams.
The attendees especially need to understand the tremendous opportunity they have received by being in pre trial diversion or having received an opportunity for an 894. Many times people in our class are benefiting from an opportunity that they don;t have a clue about. They don't understand the second chance they have received. When we complete our class our attendees have that understanding and have an appreciation for the program in which they are participating.
